Friday's Broadcast Ratings: Dramas Keep CBS on Top in Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/12/19):

CBS (6.953 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #1) was the top draw on Friday with its trio of "MacGyver" (6.096 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T1), "Hawaii Five-0" (6.759 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T1) and "Blue Bloods" (8.005 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T1).

ABC (3.181 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #2) then was a close second with the season finales of "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.114 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) and "Speechless" (2.342 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9) alongside a two-hour "20/20" (3.407 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4).

Next up was NBC (3.431 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) and its lineup of "Blindspot" (3.170 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9), "The Blacklist" (3.834 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9) and "Dateline NBC" (3.290 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.301 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) offered up repeats of "Last Man Standing" (3.062 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) and "The Cool Kids" (2.548 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) plus a new "Proven Innocent" (1.797 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #12).

And finally, The CW (1.270 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) opted for repeats of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.274 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T13), another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.329 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T13) and "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (1.239 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T13).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/3; "Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore delayed by a Masters report; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3 with an encore delayed by a Masters report. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore delayed by a Masters report.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.1/1 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (7.240 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) held off the competition on Friday with its trio of "MacGyver" (6.463 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2), "Hawaii Five-0" (7.153 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) and "Blue Bloods" (8.106 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

FOX (2.964 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then was a close second thanks to a new "MasterChef Junior" (3.023 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4) followed by a second "MasterChef Junior" (2.906 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4).

Next up was NBC (3.915 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) with another early "Taken" (3.450 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #7) and a new two-hour "Dateline NBC" (4.147 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #6).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.046 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up originals from "Once Upon a Time" (2.262 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (1.962 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8) and "20/20" (1.913 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8).

And finally, a repeat "Life Sentence" (1.091 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and a new "Jane the Virgin" (0.742 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) on The CW (0.917 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.
