March 28, 2022 - Dateline is the #1 most-watched newsmagazine and true-crime franchise across all of TV during the 1st quarter with over 78 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, over 27 billion minutes of Dateline were consumed across TV and digital platforms during the same time period.

As the OG of true crime, Dateline airs across numerous platforms, including NBC, cable and broadcast syndication, with hundreds of hours available to stream on Peacock's Dateline 24/7 channel.

Dateline also produces its chart-topping showcast, which features broadcasts as podcast episodes. During the 1st quarter, the showcast reached more than 75 million downloads, growing by double-digits versus the same time last year. It makes the strongest quarter of the podcast since its launch in 2019, with the average episode reaching more than 1.4 million downloads.

Now in its 30th season, Dateline is the longest-running series in NBC primetime history. Dateline is anchored by Lester Holt and features correspondents Andrea Canning, Josh Mankiewicz, Keith Morrison and Dennis Murphy. With new episodes on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, the newsmagazine also reaches millions through its #1 podcasts, including The Thing About Pam.
