"Wicked: One Wonderful Night" Shines for NBC

"WICKED: ONE WONDERFUL NIGHT" SHINES FOR NBC

NBC's "Wicked: One Wonderful Night" special that aired on Nov. 6 is the network's top-rated special this year after "SNL50: The Anniversary Special," which aired in February.

Across all platforms, the special drew 3.6 million viewers, which was up 64% from last year's "Defying Gravity: The Curtain Rises on Wicked" special. In addition, the 18-49 demo was up 148%.

Filmed at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, three-time Academy Award(R)-nominated actress Cynthia Erivo and Academy Award(R)-nominated actress Ariana Grande led electrifying performances alongside their "Wicked: For Good" co-stars - Oscar(R) winner Michelle Yeoh, pop culture icon Jeff Goldblum, Tony nominee Ethan Slater, five-time Emmy nominee Bowen Yang and breakout talent Marissa Bode - for an unforgettable night of reimagined musical arrangements, cast interviews, behind-the-scenes moments and exclusive surprises.

"Wicked: One Wonderful Night" was produced by Fulwell Entertainment. Ben Winston and Raj Kapoor executive produced.

The NBC telecast of "Wicked: One Wonderful Night" leads up to the Nov. 21 premiere of "Wicked: For Good," the epic finale to the global cultural phenomenon. Directed by Jon M. Chu, the final chapter of the untold story of the witches of Oz begins with Elphaba (Oscar(R) nominee Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Oscar(R) nominee Ariana Grande) estranged and living with the consequences of their choices. When a girl from Kansas comes crashing into their lives, they will need to come together one final time, and truly see each other, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good.

"Wicked: For Good" is produced by four-time Academy Award(R) nominee and Tony and Emmy-winning powerhouse Marc Platt and by multiple Tony Award winner David Stone.

"Wicked: One Wonderful Night" is the first of several highly anticipated November specials from NBC and Peacock, the leaders in holiday programming. The 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which has been the most-watched entertainment program for the last four years, arrives Nov. 27. That same afternoon, another Thanksgiving tradition arrives when the "National Dog Show Presented by Purina" immediately follows the parade.
