The Beast in Me Plays Mind Games at No. 1 in This Week's Top 10

Plus: Frankenstein stays on top, and A Merry Little Ex-Mas ushers in the holidays.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood for a murder investigation. At least that's what grieving writer Aggie (Claire Danes) has in mind when she agrees to write a book about her new neighbor, real estate mogul (and possible killer) Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys). The new psychological thriller series The Beast in Me kept viewers wrapped in suspense, earning No. 1 on the English TV list last week with 6.9 million views.

Proving its timeless appeal, Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein stayed at the top of the English film list for a second week, taking No. 1 with 33.8 million views. Viewers took to the internet with their enthusiasm for the film, generating conversation, fan art, and trending memes around Oscar Isaac's take as the tortured scientist Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi's portrayal of the unforgettable Creature, and Mia Goth in her emotional dual roles as Victor's mother Claire and the empathetic Elizabeth.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, viewers proved the holidays are officially here as they embraced the new Netflix original Christmas film, A Merry Little Ex-Mas, which ranked No. 2 on the English film list with 12.8 million views. Alicia Silverstone and Oliver Hudson star as a recently divorced couple trying to keep up their holiday traditions for their kids, but new love interests have them both reflecting on all they've given up.

At No. 1 (10.8 million views) on the non-English film list was the Danish romantic drama, Mango, where a workaholic hotelier, Lærke (Josephine Park), travels to Spain on business and finds herself reconnecting with her daughter and falling for a kind mango orchard owner, Alex (Dar Salim). Those in the mood for something darker turned to As You Stood By, the series follows Eun-su (Jeon So-nee), a woman who grew up in an abusive family and, as an adult, sees the signs that her best friend, Hui-su (Lee You-mi), suffers in a similarly toxic relationship and vows to help her escape. The K-drama reached No. 1 on the non-English TV list, with 7.8 million views.

Viewers didn't sleep on In Your Dreams, which premiered in the No. 4 spot (8.3 million views) of the English film list. With Simu Liu, Cristin Milioti, and Craig Robinson in the voice cast, the animated adventure follows a pair of siblings who journey into the absurd landscape of their own dreams to ask the wish-granting Sandman to make their dreams come true. The laughs were plentiful in Being Eddie, which arrived in the No. 5 spot on the list (5.7 million views). The documentary recounts the dynamic career of comedian and Oscar-nominated actor Eddie Murphy, featuring insights from Arsenio Hall, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Tracee Ellis Ross, and more. A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE also enticed viewers during the week of Veterans Day. Kathryn Bigelow's ticking-clock thriller, about an unattributed missile launched at the United States, nabbed the No. 8 spot in its fourth week on the English film list, with 4.3 million views.

Those wishing to escape into fantasy opted for The Witcher Season 4, placing the series at No. 2 on the list with 3.6 million views in its third week in the Top 10. Fans returned for more of Geralt of Rivia (Liam Hemsworth) and the many monsters he hunts in his quest to reunite with Ciri (Freya Allan). Leaving the fantasy realm and moving into the history books, viewers put the drama series Death by Lightning at No. 5 with 3.2 million views as they took in the fascinating life and death of the 20th US president, James Garfield (Michael Shannon), who was assassinated by Charles Guiteau (Matthew Macfadyen).

Baramulla jumped up to the No. 2 spot on the non-English film list, earning 4.3 million views. The supernatural horror film centers on a cop who moves with his family to the titular town, a place plagued by a series of child kidnappings. Eloa the Hostage: Live on TV, the Brazilian documentary about a teenage girl who was abducted by her ex-boyfriend, took the No. 3 spot on the list, with 4.1 million views.

Last Samurai Standing debuted in the No. 2 spot on the non-English TV list, collecting 6.2 million views. The Japanese series follows hundreds of fallen samurai who, struggling amid poverty and a pandemic, join a high-stakes tournament in which the last competitor alive wins a massive cash prize. Likewise, Dynamite Kiss, the Korean romance series about a boss and a new hire who reunite after a forgotten tryst, launched at No. 3 on the list, with 6.1 million views.

Audiences fell in line to watch Marines, which debuted at No. 8 on the English TV list, with 2.8 million views. With unparalleled access to the US Marine Corps, the coming-of-age docuseries follows the members of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the US military's "force in readiness" in the Pacific, and offers an inside look into the rigorous training and emotional moments of young Marines as they grapple with life at sea.

Stranger Things fans are clearly continuing to prepare for the show's final season - Volume 1 launches on Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. PT with the first four episodes. The supernatural horror series' first and second seasons ranked No. 4 and No. 9 on the English TV list, with 3.3 million and 2.7 million views, respectively.
