'American Idol' Rocks to a 5-Week High
Show Tops 5 Million Total Viewers on ABC and Disney+ as Top 11 Perform Hits From This Year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees
'American Idol' Towers Over the Penultimate Episode of NBC's 'The Voice'
"American Idol" celebrated rock and roll in style on Monday night, live on ABC and Disney+, rising week to week in both Total Viewers (5.08 million) and Adults 18-49 (0.45 rating), and standing as the No. 1 program of the night, as the Top 11 performed hits from this year's class of 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees.
· Featuring special guest mentors Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, "American Idol" posted week-to-week gains in Total Viewers (+4%; vs. 4.86 million on 4/6/26), growing four weeks in a row with the show's largest overall audience in 5 weeks - since 3/9/26.
· Among Adults 18-49, "American Idol" grew over the prior week (+7% - 0.45 rating vs. 0.42 rating), delivering its best performance in 7 weeks - since 2/23/26.
· The show grew by double digits over its year-ago Monday audience in Total Viewers (+19% - 5.08 million vs. 4.25 million on 4/14/25).
· "American Idol" (8-10 p.m.) towered over Season 29's penultimate episode of NBC's "The Voice" (9-11 p.m.) in Total Viewers (+83% - 5.08 million vs. 2.78 million).
· "American Idol" was the No. 1 most social entertainment program of the night, earning 1.4 million total social interactions, up +4% over last week's episode (vs. 1.3 million on 4/6/26).
Coming up next week (Monday, April 20, at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+, streaming next day on Hulu), the Top 9 bring iconic Disney songs to life as America votes live to decide which seven finalists move one step closer to their dream of becoming the next "American Idol."
