STAMFORD, Conn. - Oct. 1, 2026 - NBC Sports presented its first MLB Postseason games since 2000, and delivered viewership milestones for both games on the NBC broadcast network, based on Nielsen Big Data inclusive of first party data.
Tuesday night's Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees American League Wild Card Series presented by AbbVie Game 1 averaged 7.3 million viewers on NBC and Peacock (8-11:20 p.m. ET):
· Marking the most-watched Game 1 among MLB Wild Card Series or Division Series since 2006 (Tigers-Yankees in ALDS, 8.4 million on FOX).
· Posting a 12% increase from last year's Red Sox-Yankees MLB Wild Card Series Game 1 (6.5 million viewers on ESPN, 9/30/25).
· Peaking at 8.5 million viewers from 9-9:15 p.m. ET.
Tuesday afternoon's Philadelphia Phillies-Atlanta Braves National League Wild Card Series presented by AbbVie Game 1 averaged 3.9 million viewers on NBC and Peacock (2:00-4:59 p.m. ET):
· Marking the most-watched afternoon MLB Wild Card Game 1 ever (MLB Wild Card Series dates to 2020).
· Posting a 15% increase from last year's San Diego Padres-Chicago Cubs MLB Wild Card Series Game 1 (3.4 million viewers in afternoon on ABC, 9/30/25).
· Peaking at 5.0 million viewers from 4:30-4:45 p.m. ET).
