DESCRIPTION: (from Paramount+'s web site, August 2024) The crimes are real, and the stakes are high. You’ve read the harrowing headlines. But now, for the first time, the men and women who faced the unthinkable give us the details. This is PD TRUE, and just like FBI TRUE, the stories are shared officer to officer, elbows on the bar with the grit left in. The gripping half-hour series takes viewers into moments of crisis in some of the biggest cases of our time as told by the police officers who worked them. PD TRUE features real, raw, and unfiltered stories shared between the men and women officers who worked shoulder-to-shoulder to solve shocking crimes. Talking to each other across a table, they recount serial killings, mass shootings, crimes of passion and revenge, and more. Viewers may have seen the deadlines and know the basics, but they’ve never heard them from the horse’s mouth so to speak—the cops themselves, who sifted through horrific crime scenes or carried out risky undercover assignments. What got them through, they say, is never quitting on the mission and their dogged determination to collar the bad guy. Each half-hour episode of PD TRUE is built around intimate interviews with the lead officers. They share their strategies and are candid about the emotions they felt, and sometimes still feel for the victims. Complementing their stories is a trove of exclusive video which is woven and never-before-seen evidence that gives a moment-by-moment feel for how the case unfolded. Season one features a blow-by-blow of the police response to the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando; a terrifying subway shooting in New York City; and intense gunfight in with bank robbers that turned the streets of LA into a war zone; a bumbling mob hit on a “wiseguy” in the Bronx; the ruthless murder of a stunning Playboy model; and the hunt for Aileen Wuornous, America’s best known female serial killer whose victims middle-aged men. Developed by the team behind the Paramount+ hits FBI TRUE and NEVER SEEN AGAIN. |
