DESCRIPTION:
(from USA's press release, May 2013) USA announced today that Matt Rogers, a former "American Idol" finalist and seasoned on-air talent, will be the host of the network's new competition reality series, SUMMER CAMP. The eight episode one-hour series will premiere on Thursday, July 11 at 8/7c on USA. "A reality TV veteran, Matt brings a relatiblity and an energy that is a perfect fit for this fun-filled summer competition series," said Heather Olander, senior vice president, alternative programming for USA Network. "As a former camper himself, we are excited to see Matt relive the experience all over again alongside this incredible group of characters." From Emmy(R)-Award winning producer Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan ("Big Brother") and Fly on the Wall Entertainment and distributed by Sony Pictures Television, this escapist series sends die-hard campers back to the most cherished place of their youth for the thrill of a lifetime. In SUMMER CAMP, viewers will meet an eclectic group of 16 adults from all walks of life - from the fanatic hunter to the former nerd-turned-supermodel to the vegan yoga instructor. Campers will pack their bags and head to an idyllic lakeside retreat in Big Bear, California, where they will indulge in over-the-top competitions inspired by classic camp games. At the end of the summer, the remaining competitors face off in the "Campathalon," an ultimate Olympic style event. |
