[05/08/12 - 08:56 AM] Video: A Few Minutes With... Marta Kauffman at the "Top of the Rock: Inside the Rise and Fall of Must See TV" Launch Panel By Jim Halterman (TFC)
Back in the days before DVRs and the Internet altered the way we watched television, viewers would actually schedule their lives around when their favorite series aired. However, it was NBC's Must See TV Thursday night programming block during the 1990s that captivated huge audiences for years like no other network. "Seinfeld," "Friends," "Mad About You," "The Cosby Show," "Cheers," "ER" and "Will & Grace" are still regarded as some of the biggest series in television history and Warren Littlefield, who was Entertainment President of NBC during the era, has written a book (with T.R. Pearson) based on this ground-breaking time, "Top of the Rock: Inside the Rise and Fall of Must See TV."
Littlefield, along with sitcom director James Burrows, Marta Kauffman (co-creator/Executive Producer, "Friends"), Noah Wyle ("ER," "Falling Skies") and Showtime Entertainment President David Nevins (then-SVP, NBC Prime Time Series) were on hand last night to talk about their respective contributions to the era and Littlefield's book at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills and our Jim Halterman grabbed some time with each of them on the red carpet before the panel.
