FRENETIC FANS UNLOCK "TEEN WOLF" SEASON FOUR TRAILER IN SOCIAL MEDIA SCAVENGER HUNT
New Season Premieres Monday, June 23 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT
NEW YORK, NY (June 9, 2014) - MTV sent "Teen Wolf" fans on a digital scavenger hunt this weekend to unlock the trailer for the fourth season of its hit drama. The fan-driven quest - which charged them with cultivating 16 words hidden via various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr - sparked a frenzy within the online community and revealed the epic trailer in less than 24 hours. "Teen Wolf" will return for the 12-episode fourth season on Monday, June 23 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
This past weekend's digital scavenger hunt was "Teen Wolf's" latest installment of fan-driven digital activations. To kick off the first half of season three, fans were challenged to unlock the premiere date by tweeting #TeenWolfSeason3 to create a mosaic with their Twitter avatar. Ultimately, this revealed a scene from the premiere episode, along with the premiere date. To start the second half of season three, fans had to solve and complete puzzles in order to view the trailer. Then, at the end of last season, a memorial site was created for the beloved character Allison Argent who died in the penultimate episode.
This season, still healing from tragic losses, Scott, Stiles, Lydia and Kira return to a new semester of school with more human worries than supernatural, while also trying to help their new friend, Malia, integrate back into society. But Kate Argent's surprising resurrection brings a new threat to Beacon Hills along with the emergence of another mysterious enemy known simply as The Benefactor. In the season premiere episode "The Dark Moon," Scott and his pack journey to Mexico to rescue a missing friend.
Immediately following each episode of "Teen Wolf," MTV will once again air "Wolf Watch." The half-hour talk show is hosted by Jill Wagner, who plays "Kate Argent" in "Teen Wolf" and gives fans even more insight into the hit series, covering topics ranging from the heavy mythology elements featured in the season, to the steamy romances and hilarious bromances that run rampant between the series' supernatural high-schoolers. The series will welcome guest appearances by "Teen Wolf" cast members sharing behind-the-scenes secrets and celebrity super fans will also drop in to get some of the answers viewers crave from week to week.
"Teen Wolf" stars Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden and Shelley Hennig.
