ACORN TV RELEASES OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR THE NEW, HIGHLY ANTICIPATED CRIME DRAMA, "ART DETECTIVES," STARRING STEPHEN MOYER

Captivating Art World Drama Premieres Monday, June 9

NEW YORK - May 1, 2025 - Today, Acorn TV released the official trailer from the gripping art world crime drama, Art Detectives, starring and executive produced by Stephen Moyer (True Blood, Sexy Beast). Set to premiere with two episodes on Monday, June 9 in the US and Canada and with additional episodes dropping weekly on Mondays, the six-episode series revolves around the Heritage Crime Unit, a police department hired to solve murders connected to the world of art and antiques.

The series will have its world premiere at SeriesFest: Season 11 in Denver, CO on Saturday, May 3, where the first episode will be screening at the Sie FilmCenter at 4:15pm MT. Following the screening, star and executive producer Stephen Moyer and executive producer Paul Powell will participate in a discussion moderated by The Wrap's Emily Vogel.

In Art Detectives, art-loving DI Mick Palmer (Moyer) and straight-talking DC Shazia Malik (Nina Singh - Virdee, The Lazarus Project) together solve murders connected to the world of art and antiques, from Old Master paintings, to Banksy street art, medieval manuscripts and collectible vinyl.

Each episode follows Mick and Shazia as they navigate a rich and colorful world driven by greed, obsession, lust and revenge. Throughout the season, the artfully astute detectives encounter a fake Vermeer, Viking gold, a rare Chinese vase and items rescued from the Titanic. Mick navigates these demanding cases while managing a budding romance with museum curator Rosa (Sarah Alexander - Coupling, Green Wing) and the sudden reappearance of his charismatic father, Ron (Larry Lamb - Gavin & Stacey, EastEnders), who just happens to be one of Britain's most notorious forgers.

Art Detectives is written by Dan Gaster, Will Ing, Powell, Emma Goodwin (Episode 3) and Kitty Percy (Episode 4) and directed by Jennie Paddon and Declan Recks. Art Detectives is an Acorn TV Original Series produced by Black Dog Television, Acorn Media Enterprises, Dynamic Television and Northern Ireland Screen. The series is executive produced by Gaster, Ing and Powell for Black Dog Television, Catherine Mackin and Bea Tammer for Acorn TV/Acorn Media Enterprises, Daniel March and Klaus Zimmermann for Dynamic Television and Stephen Moyer. Candida Julian-Jones produces. Dynamic Television is the worldwide distributor, and Acorn TV holds North American rights.
