Netflix unveils the official trailer of A Widow's Game
Netflix today unveiled the official trailer of its next film, A Widow's Game, premiering on May 30th. The film is based on the case known as "the black widow of Patraix."
A Widow's Game stars Ivana Baquero (known for her roles in Pan's Labyrinth, High Seas) as Maje. Carmen Machi (Celeste, Honeymoon with My Mother, Criminal) joins the cast as Eva, the case inspector, and Tristán Ulloa (The Asunta Case, Berlin) as Salva. The cast also includes Joel Sánchez, Álex Gadea, Pablo Molinero, Pepe Ocio, Ramón Ródenas, Amparo Fernández and Miquel Mars, among others.
The film is directed by Carlos Sedes and produced by Bambú Producciones (Fariña, The Alcàsser Murders) with Ramón Campos as executive producer. It is written by the same writers as The Asunta Case.
Synopsis: In August 2017 the body of a man, stabbed seven times, appears in a parking lot in Valencia. Everything points to a crime of passion. The Homicide Group of the city, with a veteran inspector at the head, starts an investigation against the clock that soon leads them to a suspect that no one expected: Maje, the young widow, sweet and serene, who had been married to the victim for less than a year.
