ITV REVEAL NEW TRIGGER POINT TRAILER AND FIRST LOOK IMAGES AHEAD OF THIRD SERIES RETURN

ITV and HTM Television have today released first look images and a trailer from the brand new series of Trigger Point, ITV's propulsive drama starring multi-award winning actor Vicky McClure.

Viewers will get to see an action-packed 60 second glimpse of what to expect this series for Lana Washington (Vicky McClure) and the team of bomb disposal officers - known as Expo's - as they dedicate themselves to keeping the capital safe from explosive devices and terrorist threats.

The trailer accompanies six brand new images from the highly anticipated third series, including returning cast Eric Shango (On The Edge), Nabil Elouahabi (Blue Lights, Unforgotten), Natalie Simpson (North Sea Connection) and Maanuv Thiara (DI Ray, Landscapers) with guest star Jason Flemyng (Gemma Bovery, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).

Series three, commissioned for ITV by Director of Drama, Polly Hill, will comprise of six new episodes and sees the experienced team investigate a bomb threat that soon reveals itself to be the start of a sinister vendetta: someone is targeting individuals and demanding revenge. Working alongside the Police Counterterrorism Unit, the Bomb Disposal Squad race against time to find the bomber before they claim their next victim.

Series three also received a special honour in March when Her Majesty The Queen visited the Trigger Point set and met with the team to mark the start of ITV's 70th year celebrations, and following the success of the series.

The last series averaged 8.1million viewers and was streamed 30million times on ITVX, making it the second most watched drama on ITV1 in 2024, with Mr Bates vs The Post Office taking the number one slot.

HTM Television produces the series in association with All3Media International, who distribute the series internationally.

The lead writer for the new series is Chris Brandon (Bloodlands). It was directed by Jamie Donoghue (Doctor Who, A Discovery of Witches) and Audrey Cooke (Trigger Point, DI Ray) with the series produced by Kristian Dench (The Capture, Red Eye), and Kingsley Hoskins (The Road Trip, The Flatshare) as block producer.

Executive producers are Jed Mercurio (Line of Duty, Breathtaking) Daniel Walker ( Boat Story, The Tourist), Jessica Sharkey (Breathtaking, Derry Girls), Chris Brandon and Vicky McClure.

Trigger Point series 3 will air on ITV1 and STV and stream on ITVX and STV Player with series 1 and 2 available to watch now on ITVX. A fourth series has also been commissioned for 2026.
