Pride Collides and Bodies Move as One in '10DANCE' Main Trailer, Unveiled Ahead of December 18 Premiere
What happens when two dancers discover that competition feels a lot like connection? The newly unveiled main trailer and key art for 10DANCE pull viewers into a dance that begins with rivalry and ends in something deeper.
Based on Inouesatoh's acclaimed manga 10DANCE (serialized in Kodansha's Young Magazine), the story follows two men consumed by the world of competitive dance - driven by passion, rivalry, jealousy, and desire. Celebrated as a groundbreaking work of dance manga and winner of the "This BL Is Amazing! 2019" award, this sensual and emotionally charged story now comes to life as a Netflix film.
Reuniting on screen for the first time in nearly eight years, Ryoma Takeuchi and Keita Machida star as two dancers, both named Shinya, whose worlds collide on and off the dance floor. Takeuchi makes his Netflix film debut as Shinya Suzuki, Japan's Latin Dance champion. Intense and disciplined, he's a perfectionist devoted to dominating local competitions. Opposite him, Machida plays Shinya Sugiki, Japan's Ballroom champion and ranked No. 2 in the world. He surprises Suzuki with a challenge to enter the 10-Dance - a grueling competition that combines both Latin and Ballroom styles.
Joining them are Shiori Doi as Aki Tajima, Suzuki's passionate Latin partner, and Anna Ishii as Fusako Yagami, Sugiki's elegant Ballroom partner. Directed by Keishi Otomo (Rurouni Kenshin series, The Legend & Butterfly), 10DANCE captures the intensity and emotion of a competition often described as a "gorgeous triathlon" that tests both body and soul.
The trailer opens with graceful yet tense dance scenes that capture Suzuki and Sugiki's fierce rivalry. As they push each other toward the top of the dance world, their competition begins to blur into connection. Having undergone months of intensive training, Ryoma Takeuchi and Keita Machida bring raw authenticity and chemistry to performances that show not only technical precision but also the quiet intimacy of two dancers perfectly in sync, hinting at something more beneath the surface. The key art highlights the two actors in motion, reflecting the mix of rivalry and trust that defines their story.
10DANCE premieres December 18, only on Netflix.
