DISNEY'S ANDSCAPE DEBUTS TRAILER FOR "THEY FIGHT," STARRING ANDRÉ HOLLAND, WENDELL PIERCE, AND SAMIRA WILEY AHEAD OF THE FILM'S WORLD PREMIERE AT TRIBECA

World Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival on Monday, June 8, 2026 Coming to Hulu and Disney+ on Friday, July 17, 2026

Disney's Andscape debuts the trailer for its inspiring new film, They Fight, starring André Holland, Wendell Pierce, and Samira Wiley. Written and directed by Sheldon Candis, the film will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival on Monday, June 8. They Fight follows a reformed ex-con who finds purpose mentoring young boxers at a Washington, D.C. youth gym as they pursue their dreams in and out of the ring.

"THEY FIGHT is my love letter to one of my all-time favorite directors John G. Avildsen," said writer/director Sheldon Candis. "It's a Karate Kid inspired narrative punched in the face with a John Hughes coming-of-age story about Southeast D.C. kids fighting to dream within amateur youth boxing. André Holland plays the real life character of Walt Manigan within this documentary adaptation of a man searching to reclaim his soul."

SYNOPSIS: A reformed ex-con, Walt Manigan, comes home to Southeast D.C. a changed man. He chases redemption, desperate to reclaim his soul, but he must return to the one place he swore he'd never set foot in again - a crumbling boxing gym clinging to life under the watchful eye of his old mentor, Slim. Inside, a ragtag trio of young fighters - Quincey, Peanut, and Twin - battle their own demons with nothing but grit and gloves. As Walt is pulled back into a world he tried to escape, he realizes his toughest fight was never in the ring.
