GROWING UP IS SCIER THAN ZOMBIES: PRIME VIDEO REVEALS THE OFFICIAL TRAILER AND POSTER FOR "I WOULD RATHER DIE"

Prime Video's new Mexican coming-of-age series stars Fernanda Castillo, Diego Bernal, Lilith Curiel, and Farah Justiniani, and will premiere on October 2 with all episodes available the same day in more than 240 countries and territories.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico - September 14, 2026 - Growing up was complicated enough, but when a zombie shows up at the corner store, adolescence becomes a matter of life and death, literally. Prime Video has released the trailer and official poster for Prefiero la muerte (I Would Rather Die), the new Mexican coming-of-age comedy-horror series premiering on the service on October 2. It's a story about a teenager who, after coming face-to-face with death, finally dares to truly live.

Created and directed by Sebastián Sariñana , in I Would Rather Die we meet Archie (Diego Bernal), the high school loser, who, after being bitten by a zombie, joins forces with Cris (Lilith Curiel), his goth best friend, and Brenda (Farah Justiniani), his unrequited love, to try to stop an evil plan that could unleash the apocalypse in Mendoza, the small provincial town where they live. Along the way, they will have the help of investigator Sarah Díaz (Fernanda Castillo), who guides them to discover what is really happening in the town.

A pyramid scheme selling vitamins, a group of ultra-religious women, and the school bully are just some of the obstacles they'll face on their mission to figure out what the heck is going on. As Archie discovers the blessing and the curse of his new "condition," he'll be forced to resolve his personal issues, grow from a kid into a hero, and learn to "live his death to the fullest."

The series stars Fernanda Castillo , Diego Bernal , Lilith Curiel , and Farah Justiniani , and also features Luis Fernando Peña , Armando Hernández , Sherlyn , Nashla Aguilar , Leonardo Ávila , Tiaré Scanda , Alfonso Borbolla , and Esmeralda Soto . It is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Tigre Pictures, and Pez Caja. Humberto Hinojosa co-directs the series with Sariñana, and Pablo García Gatterer and Andrea Gamboa also serve as producers.

I Would Rather Die will premiere on October 2nd, with all episodes available the same day in more than 240 countries and territories.
