DESCRIPTION:
(from ABC's press release, March 2014) Designer-clad big city criminologist Dr. Agatha McAuliffe, started life on the wrong side of the law. It's hard to believe she went to prison for robbery, but that only makes her better at solving cases. She has an instinct for people and an eye for the smallest detail. Like when the FBI was trying to take credit for her work, she outed the agent's predilection for online porn and gambling... all because of his twitching pinky and inexpensive watch. Set. Game. Match. Impeccably dressed Agatha. She even knows her boyfriend, Rey Cordoba, is about to propose because he is wearing a new shirt, uncharacteristically, and wants to go on a picnic in Central Park. She gets a glimpse at the beautiful rock, but the perfect proposal has to be postponed... she's just gotten an urgent call from her policeman brother, Jimmy, to go to Philly. She packs her Louis Vuitton bag with the precision of a bento box and heads to her hometown. It's a missing girl case and the police welcome her with her old rap sheet inside the case file. She takes it in stride... and reads it out loud to them. She may have her PhD from Stanford, but she has the street smarts to play ball with them. The case is headed by her father, Detective Hank McAuliffe. Estranged for years, the tension between them is still there, but Jimmy urges them to put aside their differences and find the girl before it is too late. Against her father's wishes, Agatha reconnects with shady characters from her former life in hopes of uncovering information. This perplexing case will unleash the ghosts of her family's past in this character driven police procedural from Mark Gordon (Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds).
