DESCRIPTION:
(from AMC Global Media's press release, September 2026) AMC Global Media today announced the greenlight of a new original series for AMC and AMC+, Point Break, with Alcon Television Group serving as lead studio and AMC Studios and STUDIOCANAL (a CANAL+ company) as co-producers. Commissioned by CANAL+ for its global footprint spanning more than 50 countries across France, Europe, Africa and Asia, the series is set in the present day, after the events of the iconic film, and centered on a new heist crew with ties to the notorious Ex-Presidents gang. STUDIOCANAL will handle international sales and worldwide distribution outside of the U.S. and Canada. The first season of eight episodes will go into production early next year.
