WHEN SPARKS FLY (HALLMARK)
BROADCAST HISTORY:
6/28/14
STATUS:
telefilm/mini-series in the can
DESCRIPTION:
(from Hallmark's press release, May 2014) A big city journalist is sent back to her small hometown to write a Fourth of July story and discovers the life and love she left behind are exactly what she's been missing in "When Sparks Fly," a Hallmark Channel Original Movie World Premiere Saturday, June 28 (9p.m. ET/PT, 8C). Meghan Markle ("Suits"), Christopher Jacot ("Nikita") and Kristina Pesic ("Scott Pilgrim vs. the World") star with Lochlyn Munro ("White Chicks"), Jacqueline Samuda ("The L Word") and Keith MacKechnie ("Frost/Nixon") in this heartwarming Fourth of July holiday dramedy. Young journalist Amy Peterson (Markle) is not as happy with her big city life as she'd hoped, and it's starting to show in her work. She's also not thrilled with her current boyfriend, Phil (Munro), a GQ-handsome businessman who doesn't quite click with her. When circulation at the Chicago Post starts to wane, Amy's editor sends her back to her hometown to write an article about growing up in her parents' (MacKechnie and Samuda) fireworks business. With the Fourth of July at hand, this human-interest story will be just what the Chicago Post needs.
