MyNetworkTV Sets Fall Premieres, Midseason Plans

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- MyNetworkTV will launch the bulk of its fall schedule in October, the netlet confirmed to the site this week.

Said launch is timed with the network premiere of "WWE Friday Night Smackdown" on October 3. The network is undoubtedly hoping "Smackdown" will continue MyNetworkTV's record growth in the key adults 18-49 demographic from last season (+33%) - more than FOX (+5%), NBC (-10%), ABC (-18%), CBS (-20%) or The CW (-23%).

Here's a complete breakdown of each night's rollout:

Mondays (starting October 6)
8:00/7:00c - "Celebrity Expose"
9:00/8:00c - "Magic's Biggest Secrets Revealed" (New Series)

Tuesdays (starting September 9)

* A one-hour special devoted to "Wrestlemania XXIV" will actually kick off the WWE franchise on Thursday, October 2 at 8:00/7:00c.

-- "Shaken, Not Stirred," a series of specials devoted to celebrity roasts, including those of Bobby Brown, Rev. Al Sharpton, Ice T and Pamela Anderson. Installments will be taped at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas with D.L. Hughley, Paul Rodriguez, Anthony Anderson and John Salley among those offering verbal barbs. Latham Entertainment ("The Original Kings of Comedy") is producing.

-- In the works for midseason: a variety sketch comedy from actor/comedian Eddie Griffin; new episodes of "Masters of Illusion: Impossible Magic"; a produced for MyNetworkTV version of the syndicated entry "Comics Unleashed" and "Dead Man Running," a scripted drama starring Michael Madsen from the producers of "The Shield."
