The Hit Freshman Drama Series "Watson" Renewed by CBS for a Second Season for 2025-2026
The series averages 6.79 million viewers each week according to Nielsen season-to-date most current data.

THE HIT FRESHMAN DRAMA SERIES "WATSON" RENEWED BY CBS FOR A SECOND SEASON FOR 2025-2026

CBS announced today that its hit freshman drama series WATSON has been renewed for a second season, to be broadcast during the 2025-2026 television season on the Network, and available to stream on Paramount+.

WATSON averages 6.79 million viewers each week according to Nielsen season-to-date most current data. The premiere episode, which aired after the AFC Championship game, has been seen by 18.7 million multiplatform viewers in live plus 35 days of viewing, making it CBS' most-watched scripted episode of the 2024-25 season. In streaming alone, the premiere is the most-streamed scripted episode of all CBS Original series this season on Paramount+ with 7 million streaming viewers. (Source: Nielsen and internal data)

WATSON stars Morris Chestnut, Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, Ritchie Coster and Rochelle Aytes.

WATSON is produced by CBS Studios. Craig Sweeny wrote the premiere episode and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers for the premiere season include Morris Chestnut; Sallie Patrick; Larry Teng; Shäron Moalem MD, PhD; Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment; and Brian Morewitz. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

WATSON joins the previously renewed CBS Original series, including #1 entertainment series, TRACKER; #1 comedy, GEORGIE & MANDY'S FIRST MARRIAGE; #1 new unscripted series, HOLLYWOOD SQUARES; and the #1 new series, MATLOCK. According to Nielsen STD most current data, CBS has four of the five top new shows for the 2024-25 season.

Other previously announced series are ELSBETH; FIRE COUNTRY; NCIS; NCIS: ORIGINS; NCIS: SYDNEY; SHERIFF COUNTRY, the new drama expanding the universe of the hit series FIRE COUNTRY; new police drama BOSTON BLUE (working title) starring Donnie Wahlberg as his BLUE BLOODS character Danny Reagan; THE ROAD, a singing competition series from executive producers Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan; and hit reality series SURVIVOR and THE AMAZING RACE. The original FBI series was formerly renewed through the 2026-27 broadcast season. Additionally, the Network has ordered two more seasons of hit comedy GHOSTS, taking the series through the 2026-27 season, and THE NEIGHBORHOOD will return for its eighth and final season. This brings the total number of series ordered to 18.
