CITADEL (Amazon) - The streaming service has renewed the long-in-the-works drama for a second season in advance of its April 28 launch. (THR.com)
DROP-OFF (ABC) - Judy Greer is set to star opposite Ellie Kemper in the comedy pilot as Amanda: "Hyper-confident, uber-organized, Amanda is one of the terrifyingly "together" moms who runs the inner circle at Julia's kids' school. She's an expert at the art of a compliment that's actually an insult. Amanda, who usually arranges babysitting swaps with the moms during school vacations, arranges a swap with Julia, who agrees to watch her kids while Amanda prepares for one of her famous dinner parties…which ends in disaster for Julia." (Deadline.com)
JUDGEMENT (ABC) - Sarah Shahi has signed on to star in the drama pilot as Mia Bahari, whom we'll meet "in two distinct periods of her life. In one, she's a brilliant, successful Appeals Court judge being vetted for the U.S. Supreme Court - so long as her dark and painful secrets don't derail the nomination. In another, she's a young spitfire of an attorney, painfully awkward at times but ingenious when it comes to navigating the many nuances of the law. She's also caught romantically between two feuding brothers who are at the root of the very things she's trying to hide from her Supreme Court investigators." It's understood Shahi's involvement is in first position to her Netflix series "Sex/Life." She'll also receive a producing credit. Additionally, Paul McGuigan is set to direct and executive produce alongside writer Joey Falco, Melvin Mar, Jake Kasdan and Jordan Cerf. (Deadline.com)

MATLOCK (CBS) - Jason Ritter will round out the cast of the Kathy Bates-led reboot series pilot as Julian: "As the son of the head of the firm, Julian was born with a silver spoon in his mouth- but he's not to be underestimated. Diligent and persistent with a lot to prove, he's at odds with prioritizing his family and balancing his career. He always considers the good of the firm, even if it pushes the boundaries between his work and personal life." (Deadline.com)
NON-EVIL TWIN (NBC) - Kelly Park has been tapped to direct the multi-camera comedy pilot written by and starring Amber Ruffin. (Deadline.com)
PUBLIC DEFENDERS (ABC) - The Anthony Anderson-led comedy pilot has cast Erika Henningsen, Arturo Castro, Kimrie Lewis, Natasha Lopez and Isaiah Dòdó-Williams as series regulars. Henningsen will play Catherine, who's "smart and pragmatic and passionate about justice, even though she hasn't actually taken a case to trial yet"; with Castro as Efren, "the smartest, most charismatic lawyer in the public defender's office"; Lewis as Bethany, "as the office manager, it's up to Bethany to hold everything together"; Lopez as Lindsay, "who brings street smarts and fashion sense to the public defender's office"; and Dòdó-Williams as Ray, "a brilliant legal mind with the confidence of a pimple-faced pre-teen on picture day." (Deadline.com)
ST. DENIS MEDICAL (NBC) - Ruben Fleischer is set to helm the single-camera comedy pilot from Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin. (Deadline.com)
TAKE, THE (Netflix, New!) - Writer Rowan Joffe and director Edward Berger are spearheading an international spy thriller at the streamer based on Christopher Reich's Simon Riske book series: "Described as being in the vein of The Day of the Jackal and The Bourne Identity, The Take centers on Simon Riske, a freelance industrial spy. Riske lives largely under the radar above his auto garage in London until he gets involved in the chase for a stolen letter that could upend the balance of power in the Western world, set agains against the backdrop of the greatest street heist in the history of Paris." eOne, See-Saw Films and Brillstein Creative Partners are also among the auspices.
