LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The pilots to FOX's "Do Not Disturb" and CBS's "Eleventh Hour" won't be the first episodes audiences see when the newcomers launch on September 10 and October 9, respectively.

Both series will instead open with subsequent episodes, each network confirmed this week. The pilots then will presumably air at later dates.

Neither show is particularly serialized so each installment is modular enough that they don't have to air in production order.

Here's how CBS describes "Argo," the new premiere of "Eleventh Hour": "When multiple cases of food-related paralysis are reported in northern California, Dr. Jacob Hood, Special Science Advisor to the FBI, is called upon to investigate, on the premiere of ELEVENTH HOUR, Thursday, Oct. 9 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network."

And here's how FOX details "Work Sex," the new debut of "Do Not Disturb": "When an article about the sexual exploits of the staff at The Inn runs in a local New York magazine, Rhonda addresses her unruly staff's promiscuous behavior. Neal is singled out by the staff as being the main perpetrator of hooking up while on the job, and he tries to be on his best behavior despite some very enticing distractions. However, Rhonda finds she may need to heed her own advice as an unexpected love interest at work makes his interest known. Meanwhile, Gus helps Larry get his mojo back, and Molly gives Nicole advice on her modeling career in the "Work Sex" episode of DO NOT DISTURB airing Wednesday, Sept. 10 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."
