CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Comedy Central will go forward with its second original movie while the PAX network is gearing up for a pair of telefilms set to air during May sweeps:
-- Coming on the heels of "Porn 'n' Chicken," its first original telefilm, Comedy Central has greenlighted its second: "Knee High P.I." The project, directed by J.B. Rogers ("American Pie 2"), follows the adventures of a thirtysomething dwarf with a knack for solving crime. Production is scheduled to start this summer.
-- Janine Turner ("Northern Exposure") and Grant Show ("Melrose Place") are to topline the PAX original movie "Secret Agent Mom." The film features Turner as Samantha Bridger, a secret agent by day and a mom 24/7. Julie Dash ("The Rosa Parks Story") is set to direct the production from Toronto Entertainment. The telefilm is set for a May bow.
-- Ted Shackelford and Mimi Rogers are set as the leads in the PAX original movie "Cave In," based loosely on the recent Pennsylvania miners' rescue. Charlotte Woollams and Nikita Kearsley also star. The film debuts Friday, May 2 at 8:00/7:00c on the network.
