CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Two struggling series will see their regular season runs wrap early as FOX's "The Pitts" and the WB's "On the Spot" will be pulled before the start of May sweeps.
"The Pitts," which was originally set to close its freshman season on May 11, will now finish its run this Sunday with new episodes at 7:30/6:30c and 9:30/8:30c, its regular time slot. A special episode of "Oliver Beene" will air in its place on April 27 while repeats of "Malcolm in the Middle" are expected to fill the slot for the remainder of the sweeps period.
"On the Spot," the Frog's improv sitcom, will take a powder after tonight's airing. Repeats of "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" will take over for the series beginning next week.
The moves leave two episodes of both "Spot" and "The Pitts" still yet to air. It is not known if either program will return after the May sweeps period.
