'Sabrina' to End as the WB Sets May Sweeps Plans

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- After seven seasons, 163 episodes, two networks and three telefilms, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" will come to an end next week in its series finale on the WB. The announcement came via press release as the network outlined its May sweeps plans. Here's a rundown of what's in store for the period:

SERIES FINALES

SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH - ONE-HOUR SERIES FINALE -- "WHAT A WITCH WANTS" & "SOUL MATES" - THURSDAY, APRIL 24 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) -- Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart), Roxie (Soleil Moon Frye) and Morgan (Elisa Donovan) take a cruise to Bermuda for Sabrina�s bachelorette party, but Sabrina�s magic doesn�t work in the Bermuda Triangle and the girls must use their wits to survive a shipwreck and a hurricane. Sabrina must also convince the mystical spirit of the Triangle (guest star David Leisure) that her friendship with Roxie and Morgan will always survive. Once back in Boston, Sabrina wakes up on the morning of her wedding with cold feet. She hopes that a little magic and words of wisdom from her mom (guest star Alley Mills) and Aunt Hilda (guest star Caroline Rhea) will help her make the biggest decision of her life.

DAWSON'S CREEK - TWO-HOUR SERIES FINALE - WEDNESDAY, MAY 14 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) -- Five years have passed and everyone is reunited in Capeside for a special wedding, but the happy reunion is cut short after the group learns that one of their own has been harboring a heartbreaking secret. Since they were last together, Dawson (James Van Der Beek) has been living in Los Angeles producing his autobiographical television series �The Creek,� but has never forgotten the love of his life; Joey (Katie Holmes) is a successful book editor living in New York with her boyfriend (guest star Jeremy Sisto, "Six Feet Under") but comes home to realize she still loves her childhood sweethearts; Pacey (Joshua Jackson) is the owner of the new Ice House and still carries a torch for Joey, although he continues his pattern of getting into trouble with older women, including his newest conquest (guest star Virginia Madsen); Jen (Michelle Williams) is a single mom living with Grams (Mary Beth Peil) and managing an art gallery in Soho; and Jack (Kerr Smith) is a teacher at Capeside High and has fallen in love with a secretly gay man.

SEASON FINALES

THE JAMIE KENNEDY EXPERIMENT � 90-MINUTE SEASON FINALE -- "EPISODE 222" � THURSDAY, MAY 1 (8:00-9:30 p.m., ET) -- When Jamie plays "airport security" at a hot Austin nightclub, he practically strip-searches a club patron. Next, Jamie appears as a producer for a "Guys Gone Nuts" video, but when the guys find out it is not being marketed to women, sparks fly. Also, when Jamie plays a tour guide on a trip through Austin, his tour ends up sounding like the "Jerry Springer Show." Singer Lisa Loeb guest-stars as an emcee.

ANGEL � SEASON FINALE -- "HOME" � WEDNESDAY, MAY 7 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) -- Angel (David Boreanaz) and the gang are made an offer they can�t refuse when they are given the opportunity to take over Wolfram & Hart and obtain all of the firm�s secret and powerful information. Meanwhile, Angel has a chance to change the future for his son Connor (Vincent Kartheiser), who is physically and emotionally lost and wandering through the city.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU � SEASON FINALE -- "THE TALK" � FRIDAY, MAY 9 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) -- Val (Jennie Garth) breaks her own rules when a chance encounter with Jeff (Simon Rex) and his date (guest star Ryan Starr, "American Idol" finalist) leads to unexpected romance. Meanwhile, Val�s eavesdropping leads her to believe that Holly (Amanda Bynes) and Henry (Michael McMillian) are considering a big step in their relationship, forcing Val to have �the talk� with her sister.

REBA � SEASON FINALE -- "YOUR PLACE OR MINE" � FRIDAY, MAY 9 (9:00-9:30 p.m., ET) -- When Kyra (Scarlett Pomers) informs Brock (Christopher Rich) and Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman) that she is contemplating moving in with them, Brock swears can�t-keep-a-secret-to-save-her-life Barbra Jean to secrecy until Kyra makes her final decision. Upon hearing the news, Reba (Reba McEntire) is completely devastated, while Cheyenne (JoAnna Garcia) and Van (Steve Howey) immediately start making plans to use Kyra�s room as a nursery.

GROUNDED FOR LIFE � SEASON FINALE -- "TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT" � FRIDAY, MAY 9 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET) -- On her sixteenth birthday, Lily (Lynsey Bartilson) decides that it�s time to take the big step with Dean (Mike Vogel), but his lack of sensitivity makes her realize that Brad (Bret Harrison), the lovesick boy-next-door, may be the right guy for her after all.

CHARMED � TWO-HOUR SEASON FINALE -- "OH MY GODDESS, PARTS ONE & TWO" � SUNDAY, MAY 11 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) -- Released after centuries spent entombed beneath the Artic ice, the Titans, Greek mythic gods, set out to eliminate their captors, the Elders. Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan) are nearly defeated by the Titans, but are saved by Chris (guest star Drew Fuller, "Black Sash"), a mysterious Whitelighter from the future. Meanwhile, Leo (Brian Krause) makes a decision to give the Charmed Ones the ultimate power to vanquish the Titans, recreating them as Greek Goddesses, despite the risk that they will be seduced by their vast new powers. Phoebe becomes the Goddess of Love, Piper (Holly Marie Combs) the Goddess of Earth and Paige the Goddess of War. However, Piper�s life is turned upside-down when Leo accepts his call to become the new leader of the Elders. Piper�s loss and anger consumes her, allowing the Charmed Ones to destroy the Titans.

7TH HEAVEN � SEASON FINALE � "LIFE AND DEATH, PART TWO" � MONDAY, MAY 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) � Unable to convince Chandler's (Jeremy London) father (Lauria) to see his son before he dies, Eric (Stephen Collins) is forced into tricking him. Meanwhile, Eric, Annie (Catherine Hicks) and Sarah's mother Rosina (guest star Loraine Newman) get together to surprise Matt (Barry Watson) and congratulate him on the wonderful baby news; Mary (Jessica Biel) confides a big secret to Lucy (Beverley Mitchell); Ruthie (Mackenzie Rosman) gets her period and tries to hide the news from everyone; Kevin (George Stults) recognizes Lucy's houseguest Christine (Lipinski) as a girl who was previously arrested for prostitution; Lucy takes a home pregnancy test without telling anyone; and bad news arrives on the Camdens� doorstep in the episode�s final moments.

EVERWOOD � SEASON FINALE � "HOME" � MONDAY, MAY 19 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) � As the day of Colin�s (Mike Erwin) surgery approaches and emotions run high, Andy (Treat Williams) takes Ephram (Gregory Smith) and Delia (Vivien Cardone) on a road trip to his old medical school to consult with his mentor, Dr. Donald Douglas (guest star Philip Baker Hall). Back in Everwood, Colin kidnaps Amy (Emily VanCamp) and Bright (Chris Pratt) in the middle of the night to surprise them with a special day of memories and hopes for the future.

GILMORE GIRLS � SEASON FINALE � "THOSE ARE STRINGS, PINOCCHIO" � TUESDAY, MAY 20 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) � As Rory�s (Alexis Bledel) graduation day approaches, the Gilmore girls plan their long-awaited summer backpacking trip across Europe, even as Lorelai (Lauren Graham) faces the possibility that the recent fire will force the owners of the Independence Inn to sell the building. Rory takes matters into her own hands when she discovers that Lorelai is making a great personal sacrifice to pay for the Yale tuition. Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) present Rory with a lavish graduation gift, and everyone is touched by Rory�s moving valedictory speech. Meanwhile, Luke (Scott Patterson) has second thoughts about a summer cruise with a new girlfriend.

SMALLVILLE � SEASON FINALE � "EXODUS" � TUESDAY, MAY 20 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) � A sense of foreboding surrounds Smallville as Clark (Tom Welling) must choose between staying with Lana (Kristin Kreuk) and his family or fulfilling his destiny to rule the Earth. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Helen (Emmanuelle Vaugier) plan their upcoming wedding, but outside forces may ultimately keep them apart. Also, a hurt Chloe (Allison Mack) considers Lionel�s (John Glover) offer to investigate Clark.

SPECIALS

CELEBRITY LOOK-ALIKE DATING � FRIDAY, MAY 16 (T.B.A. p.m., ET) � This fun-filled special hosted by Godfrey ("Zoolander" and the 7-Up commercials) features ordinary people impersonating real-life celebrity couples in various scenarios for as long as the charade can last. A prize will be given to the winners, who are chosen by the audience and a guest panel.
