Spike TV Slates 'Immigrants' Preview, 'Ren & Stimpy' Return
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Spike TV will once again dip its toe into primetime animation as the cable channel has scheduled a special two-hour preview of "The Immigrants" for Thursday, August 12 at 9:00/8:00c.

Here's how the network describes the project:

This animated comedy series focuses on Russian immigrant Vladislav and his Hungarian roommate Joska who reside at the Vista Del Mar Apartments in Hollywood, CA. Vlad and Joska set out each day to make a life for themselves in America. Vlad, the eternal optimist, believes that to realize the 'American Dream' one must simply work hard. With enough time and patience he will carve out a good life for himself and his teenage daughter. Joska also believes in the 'American dream'. But the part that says if you can just come up with a new original idea, you can skip the hard work and patience part and zoom right to the top. Actors Hank Azaria and Eric McCormack voice the characters of Vlad and Joska. Produced by Klasky-Csupo.

In addition, Spike TV has also provided descriptions of the four installments that will comprise the two-hour presentation:

9:00 - 9:30 PM, ET/PT - 'Doorman' - Vlad learns a cruel lesson in the ways of the velvet rope when Joska lands his dream job as doorman at Hollywood's hottest new nightspot. Trying to do his job well, Joska refuses to admit Vlad into the club on the night of the big drinking contest. Ultimately, though, Joska realizes that friendship trumps gainful employment

9:30 - 10:00 PM, ET/PT - "Tour Bust" - When Vlad and Joska catch a ride on Nazam's tour bus (coincidentally filled with supermodels), they believe they've found the ultimate way to meet babes. Constructing their own bus out of scrap materials with the help of their neighbors, they set out to fulfill the American entrepreneurial ideal

10:00 - 10:30 PM, ET/PT - "Joska-Co" - Vlad becomes smitten with Glut-co, a massive warehouse-style store where everything is sold in bulk quantities. He believes its excess symbolizes the American dream. But Joska disagrees, citing the importance of independent retailers. So he opens Joska-Co a private store catering to particular needs, and gets to serve his dream customer, Christina Aguilera.

10:30 - 11:00 PM, ET/PT - "Health of It"- Vlad and Joska realize that in order to properly fit into the L.A. lifestyle, they must embark on a healthier lifestyle. Their new regimen of diet and exercise alienates the Vista del Mar residents, but opens doors into hipster Hollywood, until they realize just how vacant that is, and rejoin their neighbors with a new sense of moderation.

Meanwhile, in other Spike TV news:
