POP MUSIC SUPERSTAR JESSICA SIMPSON AND LATIN GRAMMY NOMINEE DAVID BISBAL TO OPEN "THE 5TH ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS," SEPT. 1 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

Pop music superstar and television personality Jessica Simpson and last year�s Latin Grammy Award-winner for Best New Artist David Bisbal will open THE 5th ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS, live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Wednesday, Sept. 1 (8:00-10:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. George Lopez was previously announced as host.

Jessica Simpson has found international acclaim with her multi-platinum selling album In This Skin and her hit MTV reality series "Newlyweds." David Bisbal is last year�s Latin Grammy winner for Best New Artist and is currently nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Album for Buler�a. Their performance will be the first meeting between one of America�s most popular personalities and a young singer who is becoming an international Latin sensation.

Previously announced performers are Akwid, Caf� Tacuba with Incubus, Paquito D�Rivera, Ozomatli, Marco Antonio Sol�s, Bebo Vald�s, Diego El Cigala, Paulina Rubio, Roselyn S�nchez, Carlos Santana, Los Lonely Boys and Robi Draco Rosa. Previously announced presenters are The Black Eyed Peas, Lynda Lopez, Christina Milian, Esai Morales, Adam Rodriguez, Wilmer Valderrama, Renan "El Cucuy" Almendarez Coello, Cheech Marin, Maria Menounos, Enrique Murciano, Xuxa, Daisy Fuentes, Constance Marie, Amber Tamblyn, Jason Ritter, Shaun Robinson, Soraya and Carlos Vives.

The Latin Recording Academy is an international, membership-based organization comprised of Spanish and Portuguese-speaking recording artists, musicians, songwriters, producers and other creative and technical recording professionals. The organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life and cultural condition for Latin music and its makers. In addition to producing the Latin Grammy Awards to honor excellence in the recorded arts and sciences, the Latin Recording Academy provides educational and outreach programs for the Latin music community.

THE 5TH ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS are produced by Cossette Productions. Pierre and John Cossette are the executive producers; Ken Ehrlich is the producer; Walter Miller is the producer/director; and Tisha Fein is the coordinating producer.
