FEAR FACTOR SET TO DEBUT IN OVER 98% OF THE U.S. IN NATIONAL SYNDICATION

Hit NBC Reality Series Premieres on Local Stations Sept. 20th

BURBANK, Calif. -- September 17, 2004 -- NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has sold NBC and Endemol USA's hit reality series Fear Factor in over 98% of the U.S. for its debut in national syndication, it was announced today by Barry Wallach, President, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Fear Factor, which already launched this summer on cable's FX network to strong ratings, will debut in national broadcast syndication on Monday, Sept. 20. Nearly 50% of the local stations will air double-runs of Fear Factor each weekday.

The Fox owned and operated stations, as well as stations representing Viacom, Sinclair, Clear Channel, Raycom and Media General, will be airing Fear Factor in syndication.

"As the first-ever network reality series to reach syndication, Fear Factor has shown over the course of its five seasons on NBC that it has tremendous appeal with viewers of all ages," says Wallach. "We expect for the series to continue its magic each weekday with local viewers."

Fear Factor pits real people against each other, extreme challenges -- and themselves -- in the hope of taking home a cash prize at the end of each regular one-hour episode. In each installment, six contestants (three women and three men) recruited from across the nation must decide if they have the guts and determination to face their most primal fears.

Fear Factor is a production of Endemol USA. Matt Kunitz ("Real World," "Dog Eat Dog"), John de Mol (""Big Brother") and David Hurwitz are the executive producers.
