FOX Dumps 'Method & Red,' 'Next Great Champ' Encores

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX is once again shuffling the deck chairs on its fall schedule, announcing today it has pulled its freshman comedy "Method & Red" from its lineup as well as its Friday encores of "The Next Great Champ."

The decision to pull both programs comes as little surprise: "Method & Red" fell 21.62% in households and 34.62% in adults 18-49 from lead-in "The Bernie Mac Show" in its most recent airing, while Friday's "Champ" encore finished dead last in the 9:00/8:00c hour among households and ahead of only UPN in adults 18-49.

FOX will replace "Method & Red" with repeats of "Bernie Mac" starting this Wednesday, while repeats of "The Simpsons" and "That '70s Show" will fill in for "Champ" in the 8:00/7:00c hour on Fridays with "The Complex: Malibu" moving to 9:00/8:00c.

While the series has yet to be officially canceled, "Method & Red" is not expected to return to the schedule any time soon. Four episodes of the comedy remain unaired.
