Two Sets of Competing Castaways Stranded in Premiere Week of TBSs New Reality Series THE REAL GILLIGANS ISLAND

Two Real-Life Gilligans, Skippers, Movie Stars, Mary Anns, Professors and Millionaire Couples Go Head-to-Head in Competitions to Become Final Seven Castaways

Two-Hour Premiere Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT); Plus All New Episode Airs Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)

Two S.S. Minnows set sail in the premiere week of the new reality series THE REAL GILLIGANS ISLAND on TBS, televisions very funny network. The series features two sets of castaways who personify the original Gilligans Island characters are stranded on an island and challenged to find a way off the island.

The special two-hour premiere on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) begins with a peek at the nationwide search for people who embody the characters from the original Gilligans Island. The casting call yields two sets of castaways who each set sail in an S.S. Minnow toward THE REAL GILLIGANS ISLAND, not knowing that they will soon meet an identical cast of characters. Divided into Minnow Gold and Minnow Green, the castaways are shocked to meet their competition and to discover that each of the castaways competes against his/her character counterpart for a spot in the final cast of seven characters.

Castaways include:

Minnow Gold: Movie Star Rachel Hunter, Gilligan Chris OMalley, Skipper Bob Fahey, Millionaire and His Wife Glenn and Mindy Stearns, Mary Ann Kate Koth, and Professor Pat Abbott.

Minnow Green: Movie Star Nicole Eggert, Gilligan Mark Gooner Groesbeck, Skipper Jim Murray, Millionaire and His Wife Bill and Donna Beaven, Mary Ann Amanda Dodson, and Professor Eric Anderson.

As reality sets in, exploring the island and searching for food are top of mind for the castaways. Over a feast of coconuts, the group gets to know each other. Controversy, humor and emotions flare as the diverse cast of characters share details about themselves. Finally a message from their only form of external communication, a radio, tells them to meet on the beach in the morning for their first competition. In an exciting game where teamwork and athleticism are essential, one team scores their first victory and wins luxuries to improve their life on the island. The losing team is faced with an unexpected situation that unifies the team.

The professors are up for their first competition in a test of intellect and survival skills. The winning professors team earns fishing gear and a fish to eat, which becomes an elegant beachfront meal.

Episode three airs Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) and features the Mary Ann and Millionaire competitions. With nerves running high, both Mary Anns prepare for their competitions, while one of them finds romance with one of the Gilligans. In a down to the wire contest, one Mary Ann prevails and enjoys a coconut cream pie with her Minnow-mates. Then the Millionaires go head-to-head in a competition that challenges their taste buds in an unusual way. The winners are treated to an open bar cocktail party complete with a steaming hot tub.

Next weeks episodes on Tuesday, Dec. 7, and Wednesday Dec. 8, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) will reveal which of the Gingers and which of the Gilligans make it to the final cast. Plus the continued comedy, drama, tempestuous weather and even more surprises are in store for the castaways of THE REAL GILLIGANS ISLAND.

Grammy-nominated Jive recording artists Bowling for Soup, whose latest single 1985 is currently climbing the charts, have recorded a re-make of the Gilligans Island theme song to serve as the theme for TBSs new reality series.

THE REAL GILLIGANS ISLAND is produced for TBS by Telepictures Productions in association with Next Entertainment. Warner Bros. International Television Distribution will be selling the international format rights to the series, as they have for Telepictures Productions/Next Entertainments The Bachelor. The series is executive-produced by Mike Fleiss (The Bachelor). The father/son team of Sherwood Schwartz, the creator of the original Gilligans Island sitcom, and Lloyd J. Schwartz also serve as executive producers. Lisa Levenson (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette) and Scott Jeffress (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette) serve as co-executive producers for Next Entertainment.

TBS is televisions very funny network, serving as home to such hot contemporary comedies as Sex and the City, Everybody Loves Raymond, Family Guy, Seinfeld and Friends; high-profile original reality series, such as Outback Jack; blockbuster movies; and hosted movie showcases.

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, is a major producer of news and entertainment product around the world and the leading provider of programming for the basic cable industry.
