COLIN FARRELL, ROBERT DENIRO HOST 'SNL' IN DECEMBER

'SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE' HEATS UP DECEMBER

Irish heartthrob Colin Farrell Hosts December 11 Featuring Breakthrough Pop Act Scissor Sisters

Legendary Actor Robert DeNiro Returns December 18 with Recently Reunited Destiny's Child as musical guest.

NEW YORK -- December 6, 2004 -- As "Saturday Night Live" closes out its episodes for 2004, the show welcomes two generations' top actors -- Colin Farrell and Robert DeNiro and two hot musical acts -- Scissor Sisters and Destiny's Child.

December 11 brings Irish bad boy and gifted actor Colin Farrell to the show. Farrell, currently starring in Oliver Stone's epic "Alexander," adds the period piece to an already diverse and impressive resume. He has starred opposite Al Pacino in "The Recruit;" he was the memorable villain "Bullseye" in "Daredevil" in the praised indie "At Home at the End of the World" as well as starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the hit "S.W.A.T." and opposite Tom Cruise in Steven Spielberg's blockbuster "Minority Report." He has appeared in three films for director Joel Schumacher including "Phone Booth," "Veronica Guerin" with Cate Blanchett and his breakthrough role in "Tigerland." Upcoming features include Terrance Malick's "A New World" and Robert Towne's "Ask the Dust" and a much-talked-about big screen version of "Miami Vice" for director Michael Mann.

Joining Farrell is critically praised pop sensation Scissor Sisters. A New York band that eschews the usual scene for campy, glam sounds of 70's and 80's rock and disco -- Scissor Sisters have become a sensation in the UK and are breaking through in the US with hits like "Laura" and "Take Your Mama." The band's mission: to inject fun back into pop music -- has been described as "Elton John, multiplied by five, add a pinch of Frankie Goes To Hollywood [and] a little Beck" by E! Online and "sexy, life-affirming pop" by Blender.

December 18 features the return of Robert DeNiro to SNL. Arguably one of America's finest actors. A two-time Academy Award winner for "The Godfather, Part II" and "Raging Bull" (and a four-time nominee as well), DeNiro makes his second hosting appearance after a memorable turn in 2002. Known as one of the most intense actors of his generation, DeNiro rose to prominence working with director Martin Scorcese in such gritty fare as "Mean Streets," "Taxi Driver" and later, "Goodfellas" in addition to countless other memorable roles, DeNiro has proven himself equally adept at comedy -- as evidenced by the hits "Analyze This," "Meet The Parents" and its eagerly anticipated sequel "Meet The Fockers" with Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand.

DeNiro will be joined by musical guest the reunited Destiny's Child, making their second appearance on the show. One of the biggest selling female groups ever -- with combined sales topping 40 million records worldwide and countless accolades, awards and platinum and gold records, Destiny's Child return with their sixth record and their first in three years after successful solo ventures -- "Destiny Fulfilled." The smash hit is topping the Billboard album charts and currently has two singles in the Top 20 -- "Lose My Breath" and "Soldier."
