THE GIRLS ARE BACK IN TOWN

Burbank, CA May 24, 2005

BY POPULAR DEMAND, THE WB PRESENTS AN ENCORE PERFORMANCE OF THE GILMORE GIRLS SEASON FINALE CLIFFHANGER ON MAY 31

Due to popular demand from viewers who were unable to see the final moments of the fifth season finale of GILMORE GIRLS, The WB Network will present an encore performance of the last two episodes of the season on Tuesday, May 31, it was announced today by David Janollari, President, Entertainment of The WB.

During the original airing of the finale on May 17, viewers who were recording the episode were surprised when the final, pivotal moments between Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her boyfriend, Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) did not record. The WB received a barrage of calls and emails from viewers and television reporters, asking when the finale would be re-broadcast. On May 31, the second-to-last episode of the season, Blame Booze and Melville, will air from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET, followed by the season finale, A House is Not a Home, from 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET.

Despite intense competition from American Idol, GILMORE GIRLS enjoyed a ratings resurgence and continued critical acclaim during its fifth season. During the May 10 broadcast, GILMORE GIRLS continued to beat all comers in its time period in key demographics, with the exception of American Idol. GILMORE GIRLS was #2 in its time period among adults 18-34 (2.6/8), persons 12-34 (2.8/9), women 18-34 (3.9/12), women 12-34 (4.2/13) and women 18-49 (3.5/9). GILMORE GIRLS was also #3 in the time period among adults 18-49 (2.3/7) and total viewers (5.4 million).

This fall, GILMORE GIRLS will return for its sixth season on The WB.
