THE KNOTS LANDING REUNION SPECIAL (working title), a new entertainment special, reunites original cast members Michele Lee, Donna Mills, Joan Van Ark, William Devane, Kevin Dobson and Ted Shackelford at the infamous cul-de-sac to celebrate and reminisce about the days they spent on the long-running series. Lisa Hartman-Black and Michelle Phillips also return.
The groundbreaking series, "Knots Landing," followed the domestic adventures, misdeeds and everyday interactions of five families living on a cul-de-sac in a small California Community. The core cast of characters are: Karen Cooper Fairgate MacKenzie (Michele Lee), Abby Fairgate Cunningham Ewing Sumner (Donna Mills), Valene Clements Ewing Ewing Gibson Waleska (Joan Van Ark), Gregory Sumner (William Devane), Marion Patrick "Mack" MacKenzie (Kevin Dobson) and Garrison Arthur "Gary" Ewing" (Ted Shackelford). Lisa Hartman-Black played Ciji Dunne and Michelle Phillips played Anne W. Matheson Sumner.
"Knots Landing," which aired from 1979-80 through the 1992-93 season, is tied with "Dallas" as television's longest running primetime soap. It remains one of television's top five longest running dramas along with "Gunsmoke," "Lassie," "Law & Order," "Dallas" and "Bonanza."
THE KNOTS LANDING REUNION SPECIAL (working title) is being produced by Michael Levitt/Henry Winkler Productions. Michael Levitt ("Dallas Reunion: Return to Southfork") and Henry Winkler ("So Weird") are the executive producers. Michael Filerman and David Jacobs ("Knots Landing") are the co-executive producers. Greg Sills ("VH1 Diva Duets") is the supervising producer; Gary Tellalian ("TV Land Awards: A Celebration of Classic TV") is the producer. Michael Demsey ("Nicole Kidman: An American Cinematheque Tribute") will direct from a script by "Stephen Pouliot ("CBS At 75").
