New York and Philadelphia, June 22, 2005 VH1 will launch its video on demand platform on Friday, July 1 as its new Celebreality series Hogan Knows Best, starring Hulk Hogan and his family, makes its world premiere exclusively on Comcast ON DEMAND. Comcast Digital Cable customers will be the first to see who really knows best when VH1s highly anticipated new series debuts on demand a full nine days before the linear series premiere on VH1on Sunday, July 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Hogan Knows Best opens the doors to the Hogan family home and provides a new definition of the traditional family. Linda, Hulks adoring wife of 21 years, is the rock of the family. Their daughter, 16-year-old Brooke, aspires to become Americas next biggest pop star while making the journey through adolescence a challenge that even Hulk cant crush. Nick, Hulks 14-year-old son, is a typical teenage boy whose primary interests are cars and girls. The series will follow Hulk as he wrestles with the everyday triumphs and struggles of family life, while juggling the challenges that come with parenting two teenagers.
In addition to the first episode of Hogan Knows Best, VH1 is planning to offer other programs, including exclusive music concerts, interviews with the biggest artists and other pop culture and Celebreality shows, on demand later this year.
Comcast ON DEMAND currently is available to approximately 90% of the companys customers. Comcast customers have watched more than 100 million on-demand programs in each of the past three months, and the company expects more than one billion VOD selections will be viewed this year.
Were thrilled to be making our first leap into the VOD arena with partners as strong as Comcast and Hulk Hogan, said Tom Calderone, VH1 General Manager. The VOD platform presents many possibilities and conveniences to viewers, programmers and our distribution partners.
