BRAVO ANNOUNCES "IT'S MY PARTY" - A NEW ORIGINAL SERIES THAT UNCOVERS THE AMAZING MEASURES PARENTS GO THROUGH TO COMMEMORATE THEIR CHILDREN'S HAPPIEST OCCASIONS WITH FLAIR
EACH EPISODE WILL SHOWCASE TWO FAMILIES CELEBRATING SIMILAR EVENTS IN THEIR OWN UNIQUE FASHION; DEBUTS IN 2006
NEW YORK - June 28, 2005 - Bravo is joining in the revelry as the six-part, one-hour series "It's My Party" (working title) follows a diverse group of parents as they put major time, energy, work and cash into planning a party for their beloved children. These parents obsess over every possible detail, from the invitation list, to most impressive venue, to the color of the dress, to the right selection of tunes in hopes that it will result in the perfect party for their offspring...or is it really the perfect party for them? The series is slated to air on Bravo in the first quarter of 2006. The announcement was made today by Bravo President Lauren Zalaznick.
"'It's My Party' puts a unique twist on a familiar concept," said Zalaznick. "This series aims to uncover what leads parents to invest so much in the celebrations of their children's major rites of passages."
Each one-hour episode will feature two families preparing for similar events with their unique styles and methods. Be it a 5-year-old's birthday matched with a Sweet 16, or a Bah Mitzvah versus a Bat Mitzvah, or a gay wedding with a straight wedding, these parties leave you wondering if these social affairs are for the kids or the parents!
