LARA FLYNN BOYLE JOINS CAST OF NBC'S HIT DRAMA 'LAS VEGAS' AS FLAMBOYANT NEW OWNER OF MONTECITO CASINO

BURBANK - July 6, 2005 - Lara Flynn Boyle ("The Practice," "Men in Black II") will join the cast of NBC's hit drama "Las Vegas" (Mondays, 9-10 p.m. ET) as the flamboyant new owner of the Montecito Casino who immediately causes a commotion when the series returns this Fall.

"Obviously, we're excited to have someone with the style and panache of Lara Flynn Boyle as we head into a season of transition for 'Las Vegas,'" said Gary Scott Thompson, the series' creator and executive producer. "She will add even more story potential and star power to what is already a super-charged cast playing against the backdrop of a dynamic city."

Flynn Boyle first gained recognition for her performance as Donna Hayward in the dark series "Twin Peaks." She followed that with starring or featured roles in such feature films as "Wayne's World," "The Temp," "Afterglow" and last year's "Men in Black II." She also starred as attorney Helen Gamble in "The Practice" from 1997-2003.

Among Flynn Boyle's other features are "Dead Poets Society," "Mobsters," "Where the Day Takes You" and "Chain of Fools." She recently completed work on an upcoming film, "Land of the Blind."

Elsewhere on television, Flynn Boyle has starred in the movies "Jacob" and "The Preppie Murder." She also hosted NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and guest-starred in a few episodes of the series "Huff."

In "Las Vegas," Oscar and Golden Globe Award nominee James Caan ("The Godfather," "Misery") stars as Ed Deline, the head of the surveillance team for the Montecito Resort & Casino. With his protege, Danny McCoy (Josh Duhamel, "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton") an ex-U.S. Marine and Las Vegas native, they deal with card-counting cheaters, costly streaks of random luck and rival casinos stealing their big-money players. Rounding out this cast of high rollers is Ed's daughter, Delinda (Molly Sims, "Starsky and Hutch"), Mary Connell (Nikki Cox, "Nikki"), Mike Cannon (James Lesure, "For Your Love") and Samantha "Sam" Jane (Vanessa Marcil, "Beverly Hills, 90210"). Thompson ("The Fast and the Furious") also serves as executive producer along with Gardner Stern (NBC's "Law & Order," "NYPD Blue"), Justin Falvey ("Rescue Me") and Darryl Frank ("Into the West") for this series from NBC Universal Television Studio and DreamWorks Television.
