HILARY DUFF AND ROB SCHNEIDER TO HOST "THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS" TUESDAY, AUG. 16, ON FOX

Gwen Stefani to Headline Seventh Annual Awards

Teen Queen Hilary Duff and funnyman Rob Schneider are teaming up to host THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS Tuesday, Aug. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS celebrates the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion.

At 18, Duff already has conquered the genres of television, film and music. Duff is currently starring in the movie "The Perfect Man." Her third album, "Most Wanted," will debut in August 2005, and her "Still Most Wanted" tour starts this month. Duff is currently nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Comedy, the latest of a total of five Teen Choice nominations she has received for her work in TV and film. In 2003, she won Choice Movie Breakout Performance for her role in "The Lizzie McGuire Movie."

Talented comedian, actor and writer Schneider will soon be seen in the comedy "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo," a sequel to his hit film "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo." After his big break on "The Late Show with David Letterman," Schneider landed a regular gig on "Saturday Night Live" for four seasons and has gone on to star in numerous films, many alongside former SNL buddy Adam Sandler.

Reigning as one of music and fashion's most iconic and cool artists, Gwen Stefani will headline THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS, performing her hit single "Hollaback Girl" off her five-times platinum solo album "Love. Angel. Music. Baby." Before kicking off her first-ever solo tour this fall, Stefani will also be honored with the Teen Choice Visionary Award for style and talent in the worlds of music, film and fashion. Stefani is also nominated for four Teen Choice Awards, including Choice Female Artist.

Duff and Schneider will preside over the seventh annual awards, where the coolest stars will receive coveted Teen Choice surfboard awards in categories such as Choice Breakout TV Show, Choice Movie Chemistry, Choice Reality/Variety Show, Choice Breakout Artist, Choice Male Hottie, Choice Female Athlete, Choice Liplock and Choice TV Sidekick. From now until Thursday, Aug. 4, voters can log on exclusively to www.teenpeople.com/teenchoice to cast their ballots for the hottest celebrities in film, television, music, sports and fashion.

Teens are also eligible to enter the "Claim to Fame" contest, a nationwide search to find guy and girl trophy presenters for THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS. The "Claim to Fame" contest kicked off Friday, July 1, and ends Monday, July 25. The winners will each receive a four-day/three-night trip to Los Angeles to attend THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS, where their responsibilities will include presenting trophies, escorting celebrity winners, hanging out backstage and attending the post-show party. Online entry forms are located at www.fox.com/claim2fame.

THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS is executive-produced by Bob Bain (THE BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS) and Mike Burg. Paul Flattery serves as producer. Greg Sills serves as supervising producer.
