Strong Bonds Couldn't Keep Kaysar in the Big Brother House

[via press release from CBS]

STRONG BONDS COULDN'T KEEP KAYSAR IN THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE

KAYSAR RIDHA IS THE FOURTH HOUSEGUEST EVICTED FROM "BIG BROTHER 6"

STUDIO CITY, CALIF., -- What a difference a day makes -- or in the case of Big Brother, seven days. Kaysar Ridha, who was nominated by the fourth Head of Household, Maggie Ausburn, was evicted last night from the Big Brother house.

By a whopping vote of 7-1, Kaysar received every vote from his fellow houseguests except from James Rhine.

Last week Maggie won HOH just minutes after her secret partner, Eric, was evicted from the Big Brother house. As HOH, Maggie nominated Kaysar and James for eviction, as they were the very people who led the charge to vote out Eric.

James found himself safe when his girlfriend, Sarah, won the Power of Veto and removed him from the chopping block. Maggie then put Janelle on the block. In a last-ditch effort, Kaysar tried to convince Maggie to keep him in the house, to no avail.

After the eviction, the houseguests competed in a competition called "Eliminator" to see who would become the next Head of Household. Howie Gordon, the 34-year-old meteorology student from Chicago, won the coveted position.

During last night's live broadcast, Kaysar, the graphic designer from Irvine, Calif. learned his fate, said his good-byes and left the house. After leaving BIG BROTHER 6, he was interviewed by Julie Chen about his experience, as well as on "The Early Show" on Friday morning.

Each Thursday, the houseguests compete to become Head of Household. The perks of the position include having a luxurious private bathroom and bedroom stocked with favorite foods and a plasma screen spy cam to monitor other houseguests' activities, but it also includes the responsibility of having to nominate two fellow housemates for eviction. However, one of the nominees can be saved from the chopping block if they or another housemate wins the Power of Veto competition and chooses to save one of the nominees while giving themselves immunity from nomination. If they choose to use the veto, the Head of Household must immediately choose another nominee.

As part of the twist that will play out during the summer broadcasts, each of the original 14 houseguests who entered the house believes that they are the only one playing the game with a secret partner.

For more information about the aftermath of Eric's eviction from BIG BROTHER 6, log on to www.cbs.com and watch him live on "Housecalls: The Big Brother Talk Show" with Marcellas and Gretchen on Friday (1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT).

BIG BROTHER 6 is broadcast each week on Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), Thursdays (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) and Saturdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). The Thursday broadcast, hosted by Julie Chen, features the live eviction of one of the houseguests.
