LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- With the bulk of this fall's full season orders and pink slips still yet to be handed out, two freshman series - FOX's "Reunion" and UPN's "Sex, Love and Secrets" - got the nudge toward their likely destinations over the weekend.
UPN has opted to halt production on "Secrets" following its disastrous 1.4 million viewer opening last week. The series however will continue to run in the Tuesday, 9:00/8:00c hour while the netlet mulls its ultimate fate. To date only eight installments of the show's initial 13-episode order have been shot.
Jonathan Axelrod, Kelly Edwards and Daniel Cerone are the executive producers of "Secrets," which comes from the Axelrod/Edwards Company in association with Paramount Network Television.
As for "Reunion," FOX has asked for four more scripts of the drama - a positive sign for the show's future. The news comes in spite of a lackluster 74.19% retention rate of "The O.C." among adults 18-49 last week according to Nielsen's fast national data for the night.
New episodes of both "The O.C." and "Reunion" will rejoin FOX's schedule on November 3, following the conclusion of the network's baseball coverage this month.
Jon Harmon Feldman, Steve Pearlman and Andrew Plotkin are the executive producers of "Reunion," a co-production of Warner Bros. Television and Class IV Productions.
