BRAVO DECKS THE HALLS WITH "GREAT THINGS ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS," AN ORIGINAL ONE-HOUR COUNTDOWN SERIES TO CELEBRATE THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF YEAR
FOUR-PART SERIES CONTINUES BRAVO'S SATIRICAL "GREAT THINGS ABOUT..." STRAND AND AIRS OVER CONSECUTIVE NIGHTS FROM THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1 - SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4
NEW YORK - October 17, 2005 - Bravo has made its list - and checked it twice - of the 100 yuletide traditions that celebrate the merriment and mayhem that are the "Great Things About The Holidays," from claymation villains to Bing Crosby. The four-part, one-hour strand takes a fun, festive and frolicking romp through the songs, customs, foods, and films that have forever been cemented as part of holiday pop culture cheer. The latest incarnation in Bravo's satirical "Great Things About..." strand, "Great Things About The Holidays" will air over four consecutive nights from Thursday, December 1 - Sunday, December 4 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
"Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Festivus, or Chrismukkah, we all share the same great and silly holiday traditions and memories that have become the very fabric of our pop culture," said Andrew Cohen, Bravo's pop culture pundit and Vice President of Production and Programming. "It's only fitting that Bravo celebrate these cherished yuletide customs with our signature tongue-in-cheek take on holiday favorites ranging from 'It's A Wonderful Life' to John Denver and the Muppets."
Remember the year when kids received IOU vouchers instead of their Star Wars action figures, or New York TV station WPIX's yearly presentation of the yule log? "Great Things About The Holidays" will bring back these memories and much more, including the Sonny & Cher Christmas Specials, Rankin & Bass' Heat Miser (all he really needed was a hug), and the Band Aid anthem "Do They Know It's Christmas." Also stopping by for a nog or two are friends like Elvis, The Osmonds, Furbie, Judy Garland, Charlie Brown, Hanukkah Harry, the Jingle Cats, Pee Wee Herman, and Mr. Hankie. The special will feature celebrity pundits, who will offer humorous commentary on these and many more jovial memories of the most wonderful time of year.
"Great Things About The Holidays is produced by Sharp Entertainment for Bravo. Executive Producer for Sharp Entertainment is Matt Sharp.
