- Who Are Alissa Czisny and Bebe Liang? ICE DIARIES Takes Viewers
Behind-the-Scenes and Into the Lives of These World-Class Ice Skaters -
SILVER SPRING, Md., Jan. 11 -- TLC's new six-part documentary
series ICE DIARIES, airing Fridays at 10 PM (ET/PT), has exclusive access to
top skaters Bebe Liang and Alissa Czisny on-and-off the ice as they trained
and competed for their chance at Olympic glory. Now, in the elite circle of
skaters eyeing a possible slot on Team USA, it's down to the wire for Alissa
and Bebe, with the U.S. National Figure Skating Championship this weekend, and
only three spots open on the U.S. Olympic team. Who are these new skating
phenoms all of America will be talking about? Only TLC goes behind-the-scenes
with Alissa and Bebe to see what it took to get them this chance of a
lifetime.
ICE DIARIES chronicles the lives of these young women as they make the
final push towards achieving their dream, and shows the guts, determination
and motivation they possess that is crucial to their success. On the brink of
achieving international acclaim, Bebe is one of the most athletic female
skaters on the circuit today, having surpassed her coaches' expectations by
now working on jumps usually reserved for men. After winning Skate Canada and
placing second at Skate America in 2005, Alissa is now known as an unexpected
rising star whose style and grace is compared to that of Nancy Kerrigan and
Peggy Fleming.
Follow the girls off the ice and meet their family and friends, tutors and
teachers that motivate our skaters and shape their worlds, and see how the
girls' dedication to the sport distinguishes them from their peers. From
failures and pain to success and victory, TLC captures all of the jitters and
exhilaration as Alissa and Bebe axel, lutz and toe-loop their way to victory!
