NEW YORK, January 30, 2006 -- In celebration of Black History Month, COMEDY CENTRAL presents a guide to the "Galaxy of the Black Stars," coming into view Friday, February 24 at 10:00 p.m. and eclipsing by Monday the 27 at 8:00 p.m.
COMEDY CENTRAL's "Galaxy of the Black Stars" blasts off a weekend dominated by some of the biggest African-American stars of television and film, as well as captures some of the most entertaining young acts in "Jamie Foxx�s LAFFAPALOOZA!." Be sure to catch hit movies like "48 Hrs., " "Scary Movie 2" and "The Original Kings of Comedy." Stick around for killer stand-up from Eddie Murphy and Dave Chappelle and don�t miss COMEDY CENTRAL original series like "Chappelle�s Show" and "Heroes of Black Comedy." Performers for this weekend's long laugh-fest include Cedric The Entertainer, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Don Cheadle, D.L. Hughley, Martin Lawrence, Orlando Jones, Eddie Griffin, Bernie Mac, Marlon and Shawn Wayans and many more.
In wake of last year's launch of "Jamie Foxx's LAFFAPALOOZA!," this year's programming features the follow-up, "Jamie Foxx's LAFFAPALOOZA!," which will debut in two consecutive one-hour specials starting Saturday, February 25 at 9:00 p.m. An encore presentation of "Jamie Foxx's LAFFAPALOOZA!" will air on Sunday starting at 10:00 p.m. Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, the two-part special will spotlight the best and brightest stand-up acts from today's rising urban stars. Featuring Damon Williams, DeRay Davis, Lavell Crawford, Leslie, Roz G and with a special guest appearance from event founder Jamie Foxx, be sure to catch this special, the urban stand-up event of the year.
US Navy will sponsor "Jamie Foxx's LAFFAPALOOZA!" on February 25 and 26.
