MULTI-PLATINUM POP SINGER PINK PERFORMS "NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" OPENING MUSIC

Grammy Award-Winning Artist Sings "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night" Set to Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You"

NEW YORK August 30, 2006 Grammy Award-winner and multi-platinum recording artist, Pink, collaborated with NBC Sports to create the opening song for "NBC Sunday Night Football," "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," debuting Sunday, Sept. 10, NBC's first Sunday Night Football broadcast featuring Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts versus little brother Eli Manning of the New York Giants. A special version of the song, "Waiting All Year for Opening Night" will air Thursday, Sept. 7 as the 2006 NFL season kicks off on NBC with the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Miami Dolphins.

Pink, known for such chart-topping hits as "Get the Party Started," from her best-selling sophomore album, M!ssundaztood, which sold 16 million copies worldwide, will get the football party started in homes across America every Sunday Night for "NBC Sunday Night Football." The open is set to the original Joan Jett song, "I Hate Myself for Loving You," with new lyrics (complete lyrics follow).

"This song sums up what Sunday Night Football is all about the big game." said Fred Gaudelli, "NBC Sunday Night Football" producer. "A football fan knows the anticipation of waiting all day for the big game. When you hear this song on Sunday nights you'll know the big game is about to kickoff.

"We chose Pink as the signature voice because she is a tremendous talent with a crossover appeal that makes her relevant to all segments of our audience. And she's from Philly, so she knows what being a football fan is all about."

"Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" marks the artist's first official collaboration with NBC Sports, and was recorded at Blue Jay Studios in Carlisle, Mass. As Pink's voice serves as the signature welcome to viewers each Sunday Night, the accompanying video features Pink. The video was shot at City Studios in New York City.

"This is something so different for me, it's like hearing yourself on the radio for the first time," said Pink. "I'm such a huge football fan that it's a great time."

Pink broke onto the music scene in 2000 with the release of her first album, Can't Take Me Home, which quickly made its way onto the American Top 40 album charts and earned double-platinum status for sales with the top-ten hits "There U Go," "Most Girls," and "You Make Me Sick." She was also named Billboard Magazine's Best New Female Artist in 2000. In 2001, Pink sang on a remake of the 1970s Patti LaBelle hit "Lady Marmalade" for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack with R&B artists Christina Aguilera, Mya and Lil' Kim. The piece was named MTV's Best Video of the Year and Best Video from a Film. "Lady Marmalade" became Pink's first number-one hit and earned the Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals in 2002. Pink continued to climb the Billboard Top 100 charts with singles from her next two albums, M!ssundaztood and Try This, earning her second Grammy Award for best female rock vocal performance for "Trouble" in 2004. "Get the Party Started" was the lead-off single of M!ssundaztood, and quickly went top five in the U.S., while hitting No. 1 in Germany, Ireland, Australia and Russia. The song helped fuel the success of the album, which is Pink's top selling album to date, with 16 million copies sold worldwide. "Get the Party Started" also earned Pink her third Grammy nomination for best pop vocal performance. In April 2006, Pink released her fourth album, I'm Not Dead, and the album's first single, "Stupid Girls" quickly earned a spot in the Top 20 and was nominated for Best Pop Video in MTV's 2006 VMAs. To date, Pink has sold a total of 18.5 million records wordwide.

Transcript of Sunday Night Football theme song follows.

LYRICS: "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night"

All right Sunday Night where are you?
Just kicking back from the things that you do
You want the Big Game, we want it too!

Hey Jack it's a fact, the best show in town,
Sunday Night Football we ain't messing around
Al and John will make you crank up the sound

The NFL's best have come to play
For every fan there's just one thing left to say, ay, ay, ay

I've been waiting all day for Sunday Night
The tough get rough in a primetime fight
The last one standing gets to turn out the lights
Cause I been waiting all day for Sunday Night

Sunday Night Football on NBC
The only game that you have to see
Don't need a ticket, all you need's a TV
Cause the NFL rocks on NBC
