LINCOLN HEIGHTS Premieres Monday, January 8, 7:00-8:00 p.m., ET

Show Description

Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) is a dedicated police officer, his wife Jenn (Nicki Micheaux), a devoted nurse, but their most important job is as parents to their three teenage children Cassie (Erica Hubbard), Tay (Mishon Ratliff) and Lizzie (Rhyon Brown). Theyre your everyday American family living in the suburbs of Southern California, but the Suttons are thrown for a loop when Eddie decides to move his wife and three kids to the inner-city neighborhood where he grew up. Through a police department program that provides incentive for cops to move into dangerous neighborhoods, Eddie sees the golden opportunity to achieve the American dream of home ownership while bringing about positive change in a struggling community. How he'll balance his desire to transform his old neighborhood while protecting his family is at the heart of this one-hour drama series, "Lincoln Heights."

Eddie wants what is best for his family, a comfortable home in a safe neighborhood. But with five people living in a tiny apartment, Eddie makes the crucial decision to move his family to a larger home, the abandoned, condemned crack house hes just raided. With the hopes of cleaning it up and reviving the community, Eddie convinces his wife and their kids to give the move a chance. The only problem is their new spacious home needs more than just a coat of paint, but the Suttons are up for the task. Moving to a new neighborhood brings a host of challenges for the family. Not all of their neighbors are thrilled to see a cop move into the area and the kids have a hard time adjusting to their new school. But when the community proves to be uninviting and dangerous, Eddie finds himself second guessing whether his decision was a wise one. Though the area is filled with drugs, gang violence and crime, there are also good neighbors who welcome the Suttons commitment to the community. Together the Suttons deal with the trials and tribulations of living in the inner-city and slowly begin to make a home.

This season, the Suttons will be faced with many challenges. Eddie is used to being in the line of fire daily as a cop, but when a member of his own family comes face to face with violence, Eddie will stop at nothing to keep her safe. He must fight daily to keep the peace at work and at home. Jenn is a dedicated mother and nurse, who struggles with their decision to move - she wants to stand by her man, but at the same time wants to protect her family. Cassie is sixteen and like any teenage girl, she is interested in boys, along with her schoolwork, of course. But, when the guy she likes just happens to be white, is she up for being in an inter-racial relationship? Tay and Lizzie are your typical pre-teens dealing with peer pressure and just trying to find their way in a new school with new friends. Tay, a kid from the burbs wrestles with his identity, trying to fit in the hood. And Lizzie, a budding basketball player, now finds herself spending more time on the bench instead of out on the court. They try to trust their parents, that everything will work out in time.

Lincoln Heights stars Russell Hornsby as Eddie Sutton, Nicki Micheaux as Jenn Sutton, Erica Hubbard as Cassie Sutton, Mishon Ratliff as Tay Sutton, Rhyon Brown as Lizzie Sutton, Robert Adamson as Charles and Michael Reilly Burke as Kevin Lund.

Kathleen McGhee-Anderson is Executive Producer/ShowRunner; Kevin Hooks is Executive Producer/ Director. Lincoln Heights is produced by ABC Family/Disney.
