HICK-SPANIC (Showtime, New!) - Comedian Alex Reymundo is set to topline a potential comedy series at the cable channel loosely based on his life and stand-up routine. Michael Glouberman ("Malcolm in the Middle") is penning the pilot script to the CBS Paramount Network Television-based project, which centers on a guy of Mexican decent (Reymundo) and his blond-haired, blue-eyed hillbilly wife who live in a small Kentucky town with their two children, surrounded by the sides of the family who are constantly battling about who married up. Glouberman then will executive produce alongside Jeffrey Kramer ("Ally McBeal") with Reymundo's manager Scott Montoya also receiving a producing credit.

MR. & MRS. SMITH (ABC) - Doug Liman and Simon Kinberg's small screen take on the 2005 feature starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has been ordered to pilot. The project takes place about six months after the events in the film, as they've bought a new house in a new suburb and have re-established their businesses, but the attraction and sexual spark they had found at movie's end has dwindled, and they are back dealing with marital issues.
