A Turn-of-the-Century Superpower Adventure of Goofy Misfits: 'The WONDERfools' Premieres May 15

Netflix has confirmed that its upcoming series The WONDERfools premieres globally on May 15, and unveiled its date announcement poster and trailer.

Set in 1999, The WONDERfools is an adventure comedy series about a group of neighborhood misfits who unexpectedly gain superpowers and must band together to take on villains threatening world peace. The series is already generating major buzz as director Yoo In-sik of Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Dr. Romantic reunites with Extraordinary Attorney Woo lead Park Eun-bin.

The date announcement poster shows Team WONDERfools clustered together as everyday objects float around them in midair, hinting at chaos they don't quite know how to control, featuring the astonished Chae-ni (Park Eun-bin), laser-focused Un-jeong (Cha Eun-woo), taken-aback Gyeong-hun (Choi Dae-hoon) and spooked Ro-bin (Im Seong-jae). There's no telling what kind of unpredictable journey these superpower newbies will embark on.

The date announcement trailer introduces Haeseong-si's so-called "official misfits" who unexpectedly gain superpowers. Chae-ni breaks out into an impromptu dance, living up to her nickname as the city's "hot mess" - showcasing her impulsive, carefree energy and bold, unapologetic spirit. Around her, the others fumble their way into superpowered chaos: Un-jeong summons a floating book through the air, Gyeong-hun finds his cellphone stuck to his palm, and Ro-bin tears open a car door as if it were made of paper. Still unaccustomed to their newfound powers, Gyeong-hun and Ro-bin look utterly stunned, hinting at the topsy-turvy adventure they have suddenly found themselves in. Near the end of the trailer, the team is seen gathered at City Hall for volunteer work, teasing the offbeat team-up, unexpected chemistry, and laughter that The WONDERfools promises to deliver.

With witty dialogue, colorful characters and a comedic ensemble, The WONDERfools is gearing up to sweep global audiences off their feet when it premieres exclusively on Netflix on May 15.
