IT'S A BIG DEAL AS 'DEAL OR NO DEAL' CELEBRATES ITS 100th EPISODE ON MAY 6
Viewers At Home Get A Chance To Win $100,000
BURBANK, Cailf. -- April 24, 2007 -- "Deal or No Deal" celebrates its landmark 100th episode in its second season on Sunday, May 6 (8-9 p.m. ET). Hosted by Howie Mandel, the wildly popular game show has given away more than $16 million dollars to date and averages over 15 million viewers per week.
For the 100th episode, favorite "Deal or No Deal" past contestants fill the audience and everyone is surprised when Mandel invites past contestant Brooks Leach of Mt. Vernon, Arkansas to join him on stage for a second chance to try his luck at becoming a millionaire. The fun-loving entrepreneur plays his heart out as he tries to top his $10-winnings from his November 27, 2006 game, and receives a surprise of a lifetime as his all-time favorite rocker Ozzy Osbourne makes an appearance to wish him well as he plays the game. In addition, special congratulatory video messages were sent to Howie by Jay Leno, Regis Philbin, Jackie Chan, Celine Dion, and "Heroes" cast members Hayden Panettiere and Zachary Quinto.
Hosted by Howie Mandel, "Deal or No Deal" is an international hit game show from Endemol USA, the producers of NBC's "Fear Factor" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Contestants play for a large cash prize in a high-energy match of nerves, instincts and raw intuition. Each night, the game of odds and chance unfolds when a contestant faces 26 sealed briefcases containing anything from a measly penny to one million dollars. Without knowing the amount in each briefcase, the contestant picks one -- his to keep, if he chooses, until its unsealing at game's end.
Based on the successful format from Endemol that has aired in over 40 countries, "Deal or No Deal" is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA. The series is executive-produced by Scott St. John.
