MTV VIEWERS HAVE SPOKEN WITH OVER 1.2 MILLION HITS -- THEY WANT THEIR HUMAN GIANT!

AFTER SURPASSING LIVE TELETHON GOAL, MTV GREENLIGHTS SECOND SEASON OF "HUMAN GIANT"

Rising to the challenge, MTV's "Human Giant" has officially been greenlit for a second season as they garnered over 1.2 million hits in a live 24 hour telethon this past weekend. Combining texts, emails, and stunts, the cast - Aziz Ansari, Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, and Jason Woliner - earned their second season as they exhaustingly spent 24 hours soliciting hits from viewers, surpassing the goal of 1 million.

"The Human Giant teamed up with us put together an incredible 24 hours of live programming that proved exactly why they belong on MTV. Staying up through the night, they rallied the audience with great comedy, guests, music, and interactivity with the viewers who stayed up with them through their Web cams, text messages, and emails ," said Tony DiSanto, EVP, MTV Series Development & Animation. "The fans have spoken, and shattered the goal of a million hits, so Human Giant will be back for season two! We are all looking forward to it!"

"The biggest thanks goes to everyone who called, texted, sat by on webcams, and/or just watched the full 24 hours, without them we wouldn't have made it," said Paul Scheer of Human Giant. "For all of those people that said we couldn't do it, well they can suck it."

MTV gave Human Giant 24 hours from noon on May 18th to noon on May 19th to earn a second season and they needed to get a million hits on their site to do it. MTV & MTV2 gave the cast full reign so they got to do whatever they wanted, on-air, for an entire day. Mayhem from the night included performances from some of the Human Giants' favorite artists Ted Leo, The National, Morningwood, and Mastodon; guest comedians doing improv from Will Arnett, John Krasinski, Michael Cera and Rob Riggle; they made an unlucky audience member go out to Times Square and walk around with a boom box blasting the New Kids on the Block; and viewers saw a fish have an orgasm. And that was just in the first couple of hours! Catch the highlights from the telethon on humangiant.mtv.com.
