SHOWTIME PRESENTS THE TELEVISION PREMIERE OF THE ACCLAIMED INDEPENDENT FEATURE "OPEN WINDOW"

Riveting Drama About The Aftermath And Healing Process Of Rape

Film Stars Robin Tunney, Joel Edgerton, Cybill Shepherd And Elliott Gould

Premieres Monday, July 16th at 8 PM ET/PT

LOS ANGELES (June 13, 2007) OPEN WINDOW, the acclaimed independent feature starring Robin Tunney, Joel Edgerton, Cybill Shepherd and Elliot Gould, makes its television premiere on SHOWTIME Monday, July 16th at 8 PM ET/PT. The film is an intimate, honest portrayal of the repercussions and the recovery process that a rape victim and her loved ones go through.

OPEN WINDOW is a poignant love story about a newly engaged couple, Izzy (Robin Tunney, "Prison Break") and Peter (Joel Edgerton, "Kinky Boots"), who find their cozy world shattered by a random act of violence. It is not long before other long-hidden emotions and memories rise to the surface, testing Izzy and Peters relationship. Cybill Shepherd and Elliott Gould also star as Izzys parents who struggle to help their daughter deal with the disturbing after effects of rape.

OPEN WINDOW is the writing/directing debut of accomplished motion picture editor Mia Goldman ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding," "The Big Easy"). An extremely personal film to Goldman, the film is based on a traumatic experience that happened to her over ten years ago while editing on location. Her goal in making OPEN WINDOW is to communicate to other victims of violence that hope exists and that it is never too late to start the recovery process.

Goldman explains, "Every person has choices; in that sense we are free. We can have bad things happen to us, and in that we have no choice; but we do have a choice how to react to them. And that gives the power back to the person and stops them from being a victim. We all have that, and I wanted to make people feel that, to give them that sense of hope."

The 2007 Reel Women International Film Festival named OPEN WINDOW Dramatic Winner while last year, OPEN WINDOW was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival, the Austin Film Festival, the Stockholm Festival and the Jerusalem Film Festival. In addition, Robin Tunney won Best Actress at the Boston International Film Festival and Mia Goldman won Best Director at the La Femme Film Festival.

OPEN WINDOW is a Thomas K. Barad Production. It is executive produced by Lasse Hallstrm and Todd Field and is produced by Thomas K. Barad and Midge Sanford.
